function (or definition, where function is not appropriate) of the following parts of the eye: cornea, pupil, iris, lens,
retina, fovea, blindspot, and optic nerve. For two extra credit points, go to the book's companion web site and do the
drag and drop exercise for the eye. Click on the picture of the book cover above to get to the web site. Then select Mod 9
and find the drag and drop exercise. Practice this exercise until you can place all 8 labels perfectly.

Th 1/28 Read syllabus. Give letter and syllabus to parent/guardian and get a signature on the slip indicating this has happened.
Fr 1/29 Page through Module 2: Research Strategies to briefly review content from your first semester in psychology.
Then, write one question related to research. It can be about something in the book, something you've seen on the media,
or just a question you've come up with on your own. The only thing the question needs to do is reflect a desire to know
more than you currently know about some aspect of research.
Mo 2/1 Read pages 21 and 22. Write two examples of
positive correlations and two examples of negative correlations. All of your examples should be topics of interest to psychologists
and all should be examples that aren't in the reading.
Tu 2/2 Jot down a few ideas about how you might set
up an experiment to find out whether texting while driving is dangerous. Be prepared to share your ideas in a small group.
We 2/3 Read pp 24-26. Write two examples of hypotheses that might be tested with an experiment. For each hypothesis,
identify the independent and dependent variables.
Th 2/4 Read pp 26-30. Answer "What's the Point?"
question number 9 on pg 26 and WTP? question number 10 on pg 28.
Fr 2/5 Read pp 31-33. Then write a well-developed
answer, at least one third of a page in length, answering the question: Is it ethical to conduct research on animals?
Mo 2/8 10 point quiz over the vocabulary we've covered so far.
Tu 2/9 If all your assignments are in, you
have no new assignment. If any of your work is missing, you may turn it in today for partial credit.
Th 2/11. Write
a hypothesis for a psychology experiment. Then: - Identify the independent and dependent variables in your
hypothesis. - Describe the groups for your experiment. - Identify two confounding
variables you'd be concerned about and how you'd control for them.
Mo 2/15 20 pt test over research.
